THE ALALAHOME PROJECT

For the first time, Alalaho has an opportunity to create a real home.

Up until now, we've always relied on partner venues to host our retreats. Beautiful places that we've loved, to be sure, but nothing that was ours.

Having access to this space means we can finally offer some of the things we've been dreaming about for years: long silent retreats, deep meditation work, community gatherings, and a lot more still to come.

But it needs a little bit of work. We have some refurbishment we need to do, if we want to get it to a place where we can start hosting events. So we're sprucing the place up a little (on a super tight budget), and we'd love your help making it as beautiful as we can.

THE PLACE

Namkha Dzong is, quite simply, magical.

A protected sanctuary in the Andalusian mountains, with the Mediterranean on the horizon, incredible blue skies, and wilderness in every direction.

It's the most conducive place we know for inner work, held by a community of practitioners for nearly two decades, with all the energy that brings. It's also the site of Alalaho founder Jennifer's Tessler's Dharma centre, where she's been going for her own retreats for the past 15 years.

The place that will become our home is called Khandro Ling — 'The Place of the Dakinis' — the community house that is part of the wider centre.

Its name, like ours, comes from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. So this isn't just any home for Alalaho — it's kind of the ultimate one.

THE VISION

Keep the soul, add the Alalaho.

We're not trying to turn this space into a luxury retreat. We want to keep the soul and simplicity of the place, and add the Alalaho touch: clean, cosy, welcoming, with soft bedding, beautiful details, gorgeous grounds — the same Alalaho feel as our other spaces.

We'd love your help to make this possible. And beautiful.

Everything we earn at Alalaho already goes back into the retreats. This refurb is happening on top of our usual operating costs, which means we're on a super tight budget. Every contribution — at any size — makes a huge difference to what we can create.

Here's how you can help.

We are taking contributions by bank transfer, to make things clean and simple, and save on all sorts of fees. All contributions will go directly to the Khandro Ling association — the non-profit that manages the space — and will be used exclusively for the Alalahome Project.

Follow these steps:
